Autumnal LGBTQ Vineyard Wedding - Virginia
Bleu Frog Vineyards, Leesburg VA
CJ (she/her) and Nate (he/him) were wed in a cozy barn on a moody October day surrounded by friends and family. I met Nate at Emerson College back when we were in school - it’s kinda crazy how time flies, thinking about it. Nate was always one thing to me above all else: authentic. And funny (that was always important). Amidst marketing major blues, Nate was a pal that I could always sit next to and crack jokes with (I mean, totally pay total one hundred percent attention, totally!). So when he asked if I could photograph his wedding with his beautiful bride CJ, I was really touched and excited.
CJ is equally as rad as Nate, and I only wished I could’ve hung with her more. She has a creative and loving energy that is simply magnetic. The Yu-Gi-Oh and manga tattoos were also an INSTANT win, not that I’m biased or anything. Personally, as an LGBT-identifying person, I was really touched by the collaborative, creative, and community-minded energy of everyone in the wedding party. It made me just really happy to know Nate and CJ had some great people surrounding them as they start their future together.
It was a moody October day; gentle rain complemented the warmth within the vineyard’s barn, which was decked out in florals and the occasional skeleton. The “soft spookycore” vibes hit the nail on the head with the aesthetic they were going for and felt very Them. Once the night began, the dancefloor lit up with an assortment of jams that had everyone of all ages busting a move. I’m pretty sure “Ocean Avenue” kind of took the cake, though.
All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with laughs and love. Thank you, Nate and CJ, for having me!
